- Membership Acceptance
1.1 Eligibility
a. Membership is open to all Bangladeshi citizens who are 18 years of age or older.
b. Applicants must agree to adhere to the principles, objectives, and rules of the Bangladesh Reformist Party (BRP).
c. Applicants must not be members of any other political party. Dual membership with other political parties is not allowed unless explicitly approved by the BRP central committee.
1.2 Application Process
a. Applicants must complete the official BRP membership form with accurate and truthful information.
b. A copy of the applicant’s National ID and a recent passport-sized photograph must be submitted with the membership form.
c. The BRP reserves the right to conduct background checks to verify the authenticity of the information provided.
1.3 Approval of Membership
a. Membership approval is at the discretion of the BRP central committee or designated regional committees.
b. The decision to accept or reject an application is final and not subject to appeal.
c. Approved members will receive a membership ID and be entered into the official BRP membership registry.
1.4 Obligations of Members
a. Members must actively participate in BRP activities and adhere to the party’s code of conduct.
b. Members are expected to promote the party’s mission, values, and policies within their communities.
c. Members are required to attend party meetings, events, and other activities regularly as organized by the party leadership.
- Membership Cancellation
2.1 Voluntary Cancellation
a. Members may cancel their membership at any time by submitting a written notice to their local BRP office or through the official BRP website.
b. Upon cancellation, all membership rights and privileges will be terminated immediately.
2.2 Cancellation by the Party
a. The BRP reserves the right to cancel a member’s membership if they are found to have violated the party’s rules or engaged in activities detrimental to the party’s reputation.
b. Membership may also be canceled if a member fails to adhere to the party’s code of conduct, engages in criminal activities, or publicly supports another political party without approval from the BRP central committee.
c. The member will be notified in writing of the cancellation, which will take effect immediately upon notification.
2.3 Reinstatement of Membership
a. Members whose membership has been canceled may apply for reinstatement.
b. The BRP central committee will review reinstatement requests and has the sole discretion to approve or deny them.
2.4 Appeals
a. Members whose membership has been canceled by the party have the right to appeal the decision within 30 days of the cancellation notice.
b. Appeals must be submitted in writing to the BRP central committee.
c. The central committee will review the case and make a final decision, which will be binding.
- Code of Conduct
3.1 Expected Behavior
a. Members must conduct themselves in a manner that upholds the integrity and reputation of the BRP.
b. This includes refraining from any form of discrimination, harassment, or illegal activity.
c. Members must respect the party’s leadership and adhere to the decisions made by the party’s governing bodies.
3.2 Conflict of Interest
a. Members must avoid any conflict of interest that could negatively impact their duties to the party or harm the party’s reputation.
b. This includes refraining from engaging in business or political activities that directly compete with or harm the interests of the BRP.
3.3 Confidentiality
a. Members must maintain the confidentiality of all internal party matters and sensitive information.
b. Unauthorized disclosure of such information may result in disciplinary action, including membership cancellation.
